Adam Cadwell is a Cartoonist, Illustrator and Storyboard Artist from Manchester now based in West Yorkshire, UK.
Cadwell has worked for many publishers including DC/Vertigo, Penguin Books, Image Comics, Oni Press, Jonathan Cape, Pegasus Books and Blank Slate Books. His illustrations have appeared in such magazines as MOJO, Kerrang! and Shortlist and he has produced hundreds of storyboards for TV, film and video games.
In April 2012 he co-founded Great Beast Comics with Marc Ellerby, a publishing group for professionally self-published, creator owned comics. Through this imprint he published his Northern slacker vampire series Blood Blokes (Eagle Award nominee 2012) and a book collection of his acclaimed web-comic The Everyday.
In June 2012 Cadwell launched the British Comic Awards, a national award to recognise and promote important works and talent in the thriving UK comics culture.
Cadwell was one of the 54 British artists chosen for the Eisner nominated, graphic novel anthology Nelson.
Adam Cadwell graduated from the Interactive Arts course at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2004 and went on to work as the in-house Visualiser at advertising agency TBWA\Manchester. He has worked freelance as Cadwell Illustration since 2009.
Cadwell’s favourite drink is the mixed fruit cordial, Vimto. He has a worryingly large collection of Lego minifigures.
Illustration & Character Design: £50 an hour (plus charges for usage rights if applicable.)
Storyboards, Visuals & Concept Art: £40 an hour.
Comics: Depends on size and detail but roughly £75 a page for pencils, £100 for inks, £110 for lettering, £125 for toned artwork and £150 for full colour.
